Grim Reaper

This tetraploid variety produces small, almost black skin and flesh (sometimes with a bit of whitish marbling) tubers that look pretty amazing to people who are used to supermarket varieties.

8 mini tubers. Mini tubers are small but produce full size plants and harvests.

Storage: keep in a dark place until ready to plant, but if they start sprouting earlier, place tubers in a bright place. The light will stop the sprouts from growing too much. Plant 3-5 weeks before you expect your first frosts to finish. I plant mine in September here in southern Victoria. NOTE: potatoes grown over summer produce less and smaller tubers than those grown over cooler weather in spring. This is normal.
